If you are a new parent looking for a baby bathtub that grows with your child, The First Years Rain Shower Baby Spa Bathtub might be exactly what you need. With over 1,969 reviews and a solid 4.5-star rating on Amazon, this 3-in-1 bathtub has become a go-to choice for parents everywhere. And in just the last month alone, over 900 people bought it. Let me break down why this tub is so popular and whether it is worth the investment.
What Makes This Baby Bathtub Different?
Most baby tubs only work for a few months before your child outgrows them. Not this one. The First Years Rain Shower Baby Spa Bathtub is designed to grow with your baby through 3 different stages — from newborn to toddler. That means you only need to buy one tub instead of three separate ones as your baby grows.
Here is how it works:
Stage 1 (Newborn): The soft-feel mesh sling cradles your newborn safely and comfortably during those early baths when they cannot sit up yet.
Stage 2 (Infant): Once your baby can hold their head up, you can use the inclined side of the tub for extra support.
Stage 3 (Toddler): When your child is ready to sit up and play, just remove the sling and use the upright side of the tub. Now they have plenty of room to splash around.
The Built-In Rain Shower Feature — A Game Changer
This is where things get fun. The tub comes with a rotating shower arm that sprays a gentle rain shower over your baby. You can direct the water where you need it, or detach the handheld shower head for full control. It is like turning bath time into a mini spa experience for your little one.
Plus, there is a built-in soft massage brush right on the shower head. This makes it super easy to gently scrub your baby while rinsing them at the same time — no need to juggle multiple tools.
Why Parents Love It
Here is what real buyers are saying:
Saves Money Long-Term — Instead of buying a newborn tub, an infant tub, and a toddler tub separately, this one does it all. That is huge savings.
Easy to Clean — The sling is made of quick-drying mesh material, so it does not get gross or moldy like some fabric inserts do. Just wipe down the plastic tub and you are done.
Makes Bath Time Easier — The rain shower feature keeps babies calm and relaxed. Many parents say their babies actually enjoy bath time now instead of crying through it.
Built to Last — The tub is made from durable plastic and silicone. It can handle daily use without cracking or fading.
How Do You Use It?
Setup is simple. Fill the fresh water tank with clean water for the shower feature, place your baby in the sling or on the tub surface depending on their age, and use the rain shower or handheld head to rinse them off. The built-in brush makes washing even easier. When bath time is over, just drain the tub and wipe it down.
The tub measures 30.5″ L x 16.7″ W x 9.5″ H, so it fits in most standard bathtubs or can be used on a countertop or changing table if you prefer.
Is It Worth the Price?
At $69.99, this might seem pricey compared to basic baby tubs that cost $20 to $30. But here is the thing — those basic tubs only work for a few months. This tub grows with your baby from birth all the way to toddlerhood. When you break it down, you are paying less than $25 per stage, which is actually a great deal.
Plus, it is currently ranked as an Amazon’s Choice product, which means Amazon recognizes it as a high-quality, well-priced item with fast shipping and great reviews.

- New parents who want a tub that lasts for years
- Parents with limited space who do not want multiple tubs taking up room
